Professionalism Competency Near Peer Application

We are seeking senior residents from across specialties to serve as near-peer professionalism mentors to help facilitate conversations with junior residents. McMaster PGME is offering this case-based curriculum for the second time, allowing PGY1s and 2s to work through cases that reflect the grey zones of professional practice.

Those selected will be awarded a certificate from PGME recognizing their time contribution and their status as a near-peer mentor and professionalism role model.

To apply, you must:

  1. Be a PGY3, 4 or 5 in the 2020-2021 academic year
  2. NOT be in your royal college year
  3. Have the support of your Program Director
  4. Be available for the time commitment specified below
  5. Be prepared to support new residents in reflecting on their encounters with professionalism challenges
  6. Be open to talk about your own experiences with challenging situations in the workplace
