Resident Awareness Week
McMaster PGME, with the support of Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Hospitals, plans to raise awareness about the important role of our Learners in health care and want to show our appreciation for your valued contribution. Resident Awareness Week (an event initiated by Resident Doctors of Canada) is February 10 – 14, 2020.
Here is what we have in store:
- Next week, over 20 hospitals throughout Hamilton, Niagara, and Kitchener-Waterloo will proudly display a ‘What is a Resident’ banner to inform our communities of the important role Learners play in patient care.
- Learners will be sent a $5 Tim Hortons e-gift card as a sign of our appreciation for their hard work and dedication.
- Each day, Learners will receive PGME/MedSIS email messages from various leaders in our medical community to express their appreciation!
Feeling competitive? Get involved and win a prize for your program!
Instagram Campaign!! – PGME is launching its Instagram page and we want all of you to follow at @mcmasterpgme. We will kick off our first social media campaign with Resident Awareness Week and hope to trend #MacLovesOurResidents. PGME has distributed swag to each of the programs, including buttons, capes, tuberz, and Instagram frames for distribution to their Learners.
What can you do with this swag? Take photos of yourself with faculty and staff wearing the capes and tuberz! Or you can gather together and snap a shot using the Instagram frame. BE CREATIVE! Post these photos to Instagram and tag @mcmasterpgme and use the hashtag #MacLovesOurResidents. Be sure to tag your program or mention your program name (e.g. MacPeds) in the comments! The programs with the most posts wins a pizza lunch from PGME! There are also 3 prizes for best, most creative, and most fun photo. Here are some examples of what you can do with our props.
* Please ensure that you have consent to share photos on Instagram and that there are no patients included in the images.
