Elective Registration

Learners on electives will be permitted to register when all requirements as detailed in the application process are complete and confirmed.

The learner will receive an email with details on how to log into MedSIS. Once logged in the learner must:

  1. Complete the registration form.
  2. Enter scrub size.

On the learner’s first day at McMaster they must register in person with the PGME office.  At registration they will be provided with a McMaster Photo ID and direction on hospital services (including dictation, IT, pagers, scrubs and parking).

Once all all requirements with regards to lisensure, liability and health screening are met, the learner will receive an email with details on how to log into MedSIS. Once logged in to MedSIS the learner must complete the following:

  1. Letter of Appointment (LOA) – please e-sign the LOA and the system will auto-upload it to CPSO, who requires a copy to support your license application. Please confirm once you have e-signed the LOA.
  2. Registration Form – please complete promptly.
  3. Enter scrub size.

  4. E-modules – our IT system will email you login details to complete e-learning safety modules, a McMaster registration requirement.
  5. Payment – please pay the academic fee online. Once paid, you will be able to print a receipt.

You will see alerts in MedSIS for CPSO, CMPA and the Work Permit, but these will clear after you arrive.
