Completing your PGME Program

Once you have successfully completed your training, there are three tasks to complete before your leave:

Return your PGME Photo ID badge
Return your PGME pager
Collect your certificate

The PGME office is currently physically open Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Certification Instructions

Certificates to confirm your successful completion of your PGME training program (residency program or clinical fellowship) are issued on the recommendation of Program Directors, with the approval of the program’s Residency Training Committee, and the Associate Dean, PGME.

Unless otherwise instructed by your program, there are three ways to collect your certificate upon completion of your program:

In Person pick up	Contact pgmeres@mcmaster.ca to schedule a pick up: Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Learning McMaster Campus 1280 Main Street West, MDCL 3101A Hamilton, Ontario L8S 4K1, Canada You will be required to return your PGME Photo ID badge to receive your certificate.
Authorize a delegate to pick up for you	Email pgmeres@mcmaster.ca with the full name of the delegate picking up your certificate. The delegate will show photo ID upon arrival. The delegate will need to return your PGME photo ID badge
Have it mailed to you	There is an associated fee for shipping depending on your location (ie. within Canada, US, International). Email pgmeres@mcmaster.ca to arrange shipment. Submit cheque to: Postgraduate Medical Education Office 1280 Main Street West, MDCL 3101A Hamilton, Ontario L8S 4K1, CanadaReturn your PGME photo ID badge and pager in person or by mail at the above address. Please allow 3-4 weeks for processing

Please note that certificates are held for one calendar year from the completion of training date. PGME cannot provide duplicate certificates.
