McMaster CaRMS R1 Match – Program Information

McMaster Postgraduate Medical Education recognizes how different the world looks today, and the challenges that come with it when navigating your career path. For the past 50 years, McMaster has offered challenging and rewarding postgraduate training that supports the continuum of medical education. We continue to advance residency education with new initiatives, helping postgraduate medical training to move forward and evolve.

This year, choosing your postgraduate medical school comes with new challenges: virtual interviews; elective opportunities; social distance networking, etc. McMaster’s residency programs wanted to give all prospective trainees the opportunity to learn more about their program. Anesthesia More Info & Town Hall Dates

The Anesthesiology Residency training will take place in an atmosphere of mutual respect and collegiality, promoting the ability of residents to acquire the knowledge, skills, clinical judgment and experience that will enable them to independently practice as an Anesthesiologist in a professional, competent and skillful manner.

The division of Cardiac Surgery is located at the Hamilton General site of the Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation. It is a regional program providing adult Cardiac Surgery to Ontarians in Central-South Ontario. There has been a profound increase in clinical demand, doubling surgical volumes over the past decade.

The division performs the full spectrum of adult Cardiac Surgery, except for heart transplantation. The division has expertise in the specialized fields of off-pump coronary bypass, minimally invasive coronary bypass, robotic assisted mitral valve surgery, reconstructive surgery of the mitral and aortic valves, complex aortic root reconstruction, including Ross and aortic valve-sparing procedures, and complex surgery of the aorta.

FRCPC Emergency Medicine Learn More

The McMaster Emergency Medicine Program offers a rich experience for residency training with a catchment area of approximately 2 million people in the greater Hamilton area as well as being the primary referral site for surrounding communities including Niagara and Kitchener Waterloo. We have over 80 faculty at multiple sites in and around Hamilton involved in residency education in this high acuity, high volume environment.

We also have a number of opportunities for subspecialty training and research both within the Division of Emergency Medicine as well as within the University as a whole. Residents within the Program have an abundance of opportunities to become involved in medical education, teaching and leadership based on where their interests lie.

Welcome and thank you for your interest in our Diagnostic & Clinical Pathology Residency Program at McMaster University – a five year training program that offers an intensive and integrated approach to preparing residents for careers in academic and/or clinical practice. The program is designed to fulfill the specialty requirements of the RCPSC, but is sufficiently flexible to be tailored to individual needs of each resident, which is one of the many strengths of this program.

Internal Medicine Check Out Our Virtual Info Session Details!

Wanted: Resident physicians in training who aspire to excel as clinicians, scholars and leaders. Our learning environment is enriched by engaged faculty, and resident physicians who support innovation and promote professional growth.

The Internal Medicine Residency program offers positions either within the heart of Hamilton or at our distributive site at the Waterloo Regional Campus; one McMaster program – two separate CaRMS application streams.

Medical Microbiology Learn More

Thank you for your interest in the McMaster Medical Microbiology Program. In conjunction with the Infectious Diseases Program, our program provides training in basic science Microbiology, Clinical Microbiology, Infection Control, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Laboratory Management and clinical Infectious Disease. The Infectious Disease and Medical Microbiology programs function very closely together to the mutual benefit of all trainees. The program also has the unique advantage of having a teaching technologist to provide high level, detailed microbiology teaching for our residents.

Welcome to the Adult Neurology Residency Training at McMaster University! Our program is fully accredited with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and together with other Neurology Programs across the country, launched Competency-Based Medical Education in July 2020.

The Residency Training Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University is a totally integrated program involving three hospitals within the city as well as opportunities to train in several other neighbouring community hospitals.

OBGYN will host several MD Student Zoom Town Halls prior to the CaRMS R1 match to help educate interested students in our program and discuss how the virtual interviews for McMaster OBGYN will happen.
