The St. Joseph’s Health System IOP vision is to enhance global healthcare through committed partnerships. Currently, the emphasis of the IOP is on the training and education of physicians from developing countries with the focus on building sustainable academic and care capacity in these countries.   In partnership with McMaster University, the IOP provides provide medical students, residents, and clinical fellows the academic knowledge and clinical skills they need to prevent illness, restore health, save lives—and train other doctors to do the same in their home country.
