Observerships

Obserserverships are an excellent learning opportunity to gain valuable knowledge about the practice of medicine and healthcare in a Canadian hospital. You can review the CPSO policy on observerships.

Since observerships are not recognized training, the PGME office is not involved in these arrangements. Medical practitioners must apply directly to the departmental office of the specialty in which they wish to have observer status. Arrangements for observerships can be made through Hamilton’s two teaching hospitals; Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare or contact HHSC credential
